I know I don’t talk a lot about myself on The Birth Hour because this project is all about the moms that come on the podcast to share their birth stories. But, I thought it might be fun to tell you a little bit about me and my family today. Many of you don’t know that I actually have another job in addition to The Birth Hour. I work full time for a tech start-up in Austin called Modernize. I love my job because I get to work with really smart people in the hustle of downtown Austin and I’m always learning something new but it can be really exhausting having a day job and a passion project so I’m extra lucky to have a husband who’s just as into this project as I am. My husband Richard does all of the editing for The Birth Hour which is A LOT but until recently he was working from home which allowed more time for editing.

Last month Richard took a full time job as an attorney for the state of Texas so now most of his editing time is done late night which throws off our rhythm a bit but the hardest thing we’ve had to tackle has been the logistics of transportation. As anyone with little kids and full time jobs knows, childcare logistics are exhausting. Our children go to two different schools across town and because of our work schedules we each have to take one child so we need to use two different cars.

We could just keep one carseat in each car but that would mean moving carseats around on the weekends or whenever we need to switch cars. Installing carseats is pretty much my least favorite thing in the world to do and with my neck problems, it’s actually painful to do so when RECARO offered to send us a harness-to-booster seat for our second vehicle, I was thrilled to give it a try. Adelaide was outgrowing her carseat anyways so the RECARO Performance SPORT carseat was the perfect upgrade for her. I talk a bit more about all of the features that we love over on my personal blog but for here, I’ll let Adelaide do the talking. I swear I didn’t tell her to say any of this as evidenced by the “Happy Valentine’s Day” in mid-May!

I received this carseat for free from RECARO for the purposes of this review. As always, all opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the manufacturer of this product.
