Emmi Murphy Bio

Emmi lives in Houston with her partner Barrett, their 15 month old daughter Beatrix and rescue dog Phoebe. She is a speech therapist in the public schools and loves listening to birth stories. She and her partner found out they were expecting in 2023 after a journey with vaginismus. Emmi had trouble finding any practical resources or stories including vaginismus and hopes that her story can help someone dealing with a similar situation. She chose to seek care at a birth center with midwives who were incredibly supportive and patient throughout her birth. Although Emmi ended up needing an episiotomy due to pelvic floor tension, she is so thankful for the incredible care she received and left her birth feeling empowered despite a long and difficult labor.
