Sophia moved from Los Angeles to Orlando in 2019. During the pandemic she met her husband on a dating app, and they soon married, excited to start a family. When pregnancy didn’t happen, she trusted her intuition and sought fertility care, where she was diagnosed with PCOS. After a negative experience at one clinic, she switched providers and began IUI treatment.
The first round ended in a chemical miscarriage, and the next two failed. On their fourth and final attempt before taking a break, the IUI worked—resulting in a surprise triplet pregnancy. Despite a difficult pregnancy and severe preeclampsia, she delivered three girls by C-section, who spent several weeks in the NICU.
Her recovery was complicated by blood transfusions and a severe post-surgical infection that required emergency surgery forty days postpartum. With determination and support, she recovered while caring for three newborns.
