A Midwife’s Birth Stories and Insight on Pregnancy and Birth – Anne Margolis

Today’s episode features, Anne Margolis of Home Sweet Homebirth. Anne is the mother of four grown breastfed children; two were delivered vaginally by an obstetrician, while waiting for a cesarean both times, for complications resulting from standard hospital interventions, and two were caught by the loving hands of a midwife at home.

Anne Margolis Bio

is a practicing Midwife in New York. She received her B.S.N. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, her degree in Nurse-Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, and her Master’s in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She is a licensed midwife in New York and New Jersey, a licensed OB/GYN nurse practitioner in New York, and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

Anne has extensive training and clinical experience in women’s health and maternity care, in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings, including water birth, using an integrative approach—one that combines the best of modern medicine with natural, mind-body and other holistic modalities. Anne is a doula and a childbirth educator, and incorporates the art of labor support and teaching into her midwifery practice.

Anne is also an aspiring yogi and prenatal and postpartum yoga teacher. Anne embraces mindfulness, authentic yoga and meditation as skills for life, internal stress reduction and joyfulness. She uses her understanding of the body’s need for muscle stretching, toningand exercise in fun and exuberance, and the human need for serenity and joy, to help women throughout their lives, especially in pregnancy,  labor, and birth.
