Empowering Unmedicated Birth using IVF after 4 Losses (including TFMR)

After two first-trimester pregnancy losses, Dawn was ecstatic to have a healthy pregnancy. At 20 weeks, her MFM identified a birth defect in her baby’s brain, resulting in the difficult decision to have a D&E at 21 weeks and 6 days. Eventually Dawn turned to IVF, resulting in the birth of her daughter, Kaia June, in February 2022. Dawn had an unmedicated birth with the midwives at Bay Area Maternity, an autonomous midwifery group that delivers at a small hospital in Los Gatos, CA. With the midwives and a fantastic doula, Dawn felt empowered and informed during her birth.
