Ashley had a positive and empowering unmedicated hospital birth delivered by a midwife and supported by an amazing doula. After a 12 hour labor, her daughter, Mae, was born after just three pushes but, unfortunately, ingested a lot of fluid during delivery which caused her to have a short stay in the NICU. Ashley did have a retained placenta that had to be manually extracted.
