Jenny is from the Pacific Northwest but currently resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband Chris and almost 4 year old daughter and 8 week old son. She is a dentist specializing in the treatment of sleep apnea while her husband is an ENT. Jenny gave birth to Maya in April of 2021 after a very routine pregnancy that ended slightly early due to sudden severe preeclampsia at 36 weeks. Morbidly adherent placenta leading to 2 D&Cs within 2 weeks being postpartum and a uterine perforation leading to sepsis and a 7 day hospital stay was only the beginning of a long postpartum healing journey. 5 hysteroscopies, an emergent embolization and 2.5 years of secondary infertility later Jenny recently gave birth to her rainbow baby boy. Needed
There is overwhelming evidence that higher standards of nutrition support fertility, birth outcomes, and lifelong health. Unfortunately, the prenatal vitamin industry is failing us, leaving 95% of us depleted during one of the most nutritionally demanding times in our lives. Most prenatal vitamins only provide bare minimum nutrition, while Needed goes beyond bare minimums with products that can meet the needs of our minds, bodies, and babies. I’m excited to partner with Needed and offer you a special discount. Get 20% off your first order with code BIRTHHOUR at thisisneeded.com.
I feel confident recommending Needed because their products are rigorously third-party tested and endorsed by over 10,000 women’s health experts. Needed’s prenatal multivitamin comes in two forms – capsules or a delicious vanilla powder. In addition to the prenatal multivitamin, Needed has created bundle options to meet your needs, not only during different stages of pregnancy but also while trying to conceive and postpartum. As a mom of three, I especially love their collagen, pre/probiotics and cognitive support supplement.
Head over to thisisneeded.com to find your perfect bundle and use code BIRTHHOUR for 20% off your first order and up to 40% off select plans. I’ve talked to so many Birth Hour listeners who have discovered Needed through the podcast and I love hearing the feedback that they are feeling better during their pregnancy and into postpartum since starting with Needed. That’s thisisneeded.com and use code BIRTHHOUR.

Hello
I’m absolutely Blown Away listening to your story- in particular – how the first doctor during your placenta delivery was so inept putting you in that situation of months of ill health going through everything did. Wow!!
Episode is still playing so I’m still listening but good golly- what a horrible thing to have to go through.
Blessings and love to you and your family-You’re a Strong Strong Lady 💕

Beautiful Baby!! Nice to see the face behind the voice
Congratulations!
I just went through some similar experiences with my 3rd birth (retained placenta, hemorrhage, sepsis, D and C, second hemorrhage) and am still in the healing process and figuring out what the implications might be for future fertility. I appreciate all the resources you shared, and congrats on your new baby ❤️
